Description

We are seeking a Test Systems Engineer to develop and lead a test campaign for system level testing to validate mission readiness and performance. This position will also serve as the lead system integrator’s senior system engineer and support system engineering efforts outside of test responsibilities. The position requires a diverse background in network engineering, software systems engineering and system level test management to support the United States Air Force in its goal of developing an interoperable system of systems to execute long range kill chains. The Department of the Air Force Integrated Fires Command and Control (DIFC2) program goals include improved information sharing, layered security, common data and architecture standards, system resiliency, faster implementation, and more effective cross-domain capabilities. The position requires an individual with strong technical project management skills and experience in developing and implementing test campaigns and problem solving. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, team skills and defense program technical project management experience. They will be expected to continually balance and adjust work priorities to meet short deadlines with a new program. Position will be working onsite in the Chantilly/Reston, VA area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical oversight of test campaign development and execution (integration testing, cyber vulnerability, DT/OT).
  • Develop technical test plan documentation for system level testing.
  • Support government Development Test (DT) and Operational Test (OT) events.
  • Collaborate with capability development groups to ensure sufficient unit level testing approaches and testing artifact generation.
  • Support government Chief Engineer in developing systems architecture from concept through design and implementation.
  • Recommend and evaluate new technologies to enhance system capabilities.
  • Lead cross functional teams in developing system of systems solutions.
  • Apply technical expertise to solve complex problems in innovative ways.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • U.S. Citizenship and TS/SCI Eligible.
  • BS with 5 years of experience.

Desired Skills:

  • Developing verification and validation testing plans for system of systems.
  • Leading systems engineering projects, including requirements definition, design, and implementation.
  • Capturing workflow and technical artifacts in JIRA/Confluence.
  • Problem-solving and the ability to analyze complex technical scenarios.
  • Strong communication for collaboration and documentation.
  • Diagramming technical solutions to document and communicate system designs.
  • Applying IT and cybersecurity industry standards and best practices.
  • Experience with CI/CD Pipelines.

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
