Job description

The Panther Group is seeking a Remote (EST) W2 Contract (long term, multiple years, no end date) SENIOR IT SYSTEMS & CLOUD INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER, to operate, maintain, and continually improve day-to-day IT operations, infrastructure projects, and provisioning for our proprietary cloud-hosted software platform. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building systems, improving operational efficiency, automating repetitive work, and helping a growing technology company scale., * This is an individual contributor role with broad responsibility to provide administration, technical leadership, and support for both corporate systems and customer-dedicated hosting environments.

Example Tasks

  • Setup, configure, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot IT hardware and software systems, including:
  • Public cloud infrastructure: primarily OCI, with Azure and AWS
  • Microsoft-based networks: Active Directory, Server 2016/19/22, File service, Hyper-V, Azure, Microsoft 365, Exchange, SharePoint
  • Security and compliance: Firewall, anti-virus, vulnerability scanning, SOC 2
  • Identity and access management (Active Directory, M365)
  • Small data center support: HW monitoring, resource allocation, DMZ
  • Backup management, Disaster Recovery, and Business Continuity
  • Provision and support IT infrastructure for proprietary software platform:
  • o Customer-dedicated subnets, VMs, file shares, security profiles, backups
  • o Virtual machine and pool configuration and management
  • o Automate repetitive operational and configuration cloud processes through
  • PowerShell, Python, and cloud-native scripting.
  • Maintain IT infrastructure for remote corporate staff: internet, email, file service, applications, remote access, workstation configuration; minimal end-user support
  • Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, operational dashboards, and capacity planning for corporate infrastructure and customer-hosted environments.
  • Evaluate, recommend, implement, and document infrastructure improvements for corporate systems and customer-dedicated hosting environments.

Requirements

  • Degree in IT, IS, Network Engineering, CS Required - (Must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher)
  • At least 5, ideally 10+ years relevant experience working in an IT function in a company with technology as part of its core business
  • Hands-on experience administering Microsoft network infrastructure: Active Directory, Azure, Windows Server, Hyper-V
  • Strong PowerShell and Python scripting skills
  • Familiarity with Elasticsearch, SQL and general database management
  • Strong attention to detail; able to plan, communicate, and work independently
  • Comfortable working as a hands-on senior individual contributor in a mid-sized IT environment, including direct administration, scripting, troubleshooting, documentation, and routine operational work
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
  • East coast US time zone preferred
  • US citizenship and ability to qualify for low-level federal security clearance (includes criminal, credit, and employment background checks and seven-year residency disclosure)
  • No travel anticipated.

Benefits & conditions

Pay Rate is $55 - $65 an hour on contract DOE
