Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic IBM MQ System Engineer V to lead the design, implementation, and management of enterprise messaging solutions. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your expertise in system architecture, solution design, and IT infrastructure to ensure seamless communication across complex systems. Your proactive approach will drive the stability, security, and efficiency of messaging platforms, supporting our organization’s digital transformation initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that empower our business operations., * Lead the architecture, deployment, and maintenance of IBM MQ messaging systems to facilitate reliable and secure data exchange across diverse platforms.

  • Collaborate with solution architects to integrate IBM MQ with other enterprise systems such as Salesforce, Pegasystems, and cloud services like AWS and Azure.
  • Develop and implement system hardening and security measures including firewall configurations, VPN setups, and cloud security protocols to safeguard messaging infrastructure.
  • Design scalable system solutions using microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, SOAP web services, and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, threat intelligence analysis, and vulnerability management practices to ensure system integrity and compliance with security standards.
  • Automate deployment processes through CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Git, and scripting languages such as Python or Shell Scripting for efficient system updates.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues related to load balancing, system performance, and network connectivity involving DNS, DHCP, VMware ESXi, and other virtualization technologies.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by participating in Agile development cycles and contributing to SDLC best practices for system design and implementation.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience working as a Systems Engineer or in a similar role specializing in IBM MQ messaging platforms within large enterprise environments.
  • Proven expertise in service-oriented architecture (SOA), solution architecture, and systems engineering principles applied to complex IT infrastructures.
  • Strong background in operating systems including Windows and Linux/Unix environments; familiarity with system administration tasks is essential.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure; knowledge of virtualization technologies like VMware ESXi or WDS is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in programming languages including JavaScript, C#, C++, Python, Ruby on Rails, or VBA for automation and integration tasks.
  • Knowledge of database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle Database, Microsoft SQL Server, along with NoSQL databases like Cassandra or MongoDB.
  • Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP), firewalls, load balancing techniques, VPNs, DNS/DHCP configuration for robust network security.
  • Experience with DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools; understanding of system hardening and vulnerability assessment methodologies is a plus.
