Job description

Database Administrator Senior (CSG Systems Inc. d/b/a CSG, Englewood, CO) Administer, test, and implement computer databases, applying knowledge of database management systems. Provide advanced database administration for Platform-as-a-Service (PAAS) platform data stores and shape database administration function. Enhance, monitor, and support all layers of data storage for Xponent product. Provide advanced database administration for PAAS data stores using MySQL, Redshift, and MongoDB (No SQL Database). Provide access to MySQL database for customers to use for multiple purposes in their own orchestration in a shared host, private schema Amazon AWS RDS Aurora cluster. Use data mechanism for storing specific types of data into a semi-defined NoSQL schema in a MongoDB. Implement Redshift for our clients to connect to BI Tools and receive aggregate views of the data exported from Mongo regularly. Oversee all layers of the database to empower clients, while aligning with corporate directives

for data security, privacy, management, and retention. Maintain, monitor and grow the database being used by clients and internal services team on behalf of clients. Develop telemetry and database observation practices to better address potential issues. Telecommuting is permitted 100%. Position reports to company HQ in Englewood, CO. Salary: $140,358 - $166,799.46 per year. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, plus 5 years of professional experience in a related occupation Must also have some experience with the following skills: managing cloud-native RDBMS, including replication and failover, using Aurora MySQL/PostgreSQL Management; Amazon Redshift-specific operations including distribution and sort keys, COPY command, and WLM tuning; using MongoDB Query Language (MQL) and aggregation framework for document-based data retrieval; Snowflake SQL and architecture including the time travel, virtual warehouses, and semi-structured data (VARIANT) features; using Python scripting to migrate databases from on-premises to cloud-based platforms, and vice versa; automating infrastructure deployment using Terraform and Terragrunt, integrated with Jenkins pipelines; and ETL Development for NoSQL to MySQL/Redshift migration including building ETL pipelines to extract data from NoSQL databases (including MongoDB), transforming the data, and loading the data into MySQL or Amazon Redshift for relational querying and analytical reporting.
