Requirements

Overview The driving force behind our success has always been the people of AspenTech. You will experience qualities of passion, pride, and aspiration in many ways-from a rich set of career development programs to community service projects to social events that foster fun and relationship building across our global community. We are seeking talented, energetic, and outgoing application engineers to work in a rapidly growing field where you will have the opportunity to deliver state-of-the-art Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) to some of the most exciting electric utilities around the world. Responsibilities * Develop and execute system build plans accounting for software architecture, information security, and hardware deployment. * Work closely with customers to understand operational needs and provide system training and configuration to meet those needs. * Perform system and acceptance testing with customers. * Develop scripts and other middleware solutions to integrate into third-party systems. * Troubleshoot complex problems, collaborate with technical experts, and translate root cause findings into clear, customer-friendly explanations. * Lead workshops with customers and travel up to 20% to customer sites. Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in applications engineering, software engineering, computer engineering, or a related field. * 4+ years of application engineering experience. * Solid understanding of general computer operations, file systems, system settings, multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.), and remote system access. * Comfortable working with configuration files and navigating servers. * Ability to collect and analyze data to identify software defects, distinguishing between configuration issues and development bugs, and submit highly detailed defects to the development team. * Attention to detail, including the ability to accurately update and sync configuration across a large number of servers. * Independent troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues without step-by-step guidance. * Ability to translate complex technical problems into clear, customer-friendly explanations. * Capable of identifying root causes and communicating solutions without overwhelming the customer or leadership with unnecessary technical detail. * Ability to translate customer requirements into configuration. * Knowledge of SQL Server and MongoDB preferred. * Experience with an OMS or ADMS preferred. * Ability to travel up to 20%.
