The Internet Analytics Group (IAG) at IMDEA Networks Institute is offering a part-time research engineer position for highly motivated M.Sc. students or M.Sc. graduates interested in Android security, mobile systems, and cybersecurity research. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of research software and analysis tools as part of ongoing projects in mobile and network security., * MSc graduate in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Cybersecurity, or a related field (in the case of ongoing students, acceptance in a program for 2026-2027)
- Strong programming skills in Python and Java.
- Experience with database management (SQL and/or NoSQL).
- Good written and spoken English.
- Linux, Git, and software engineering best practices.
Desirable skills
- Android app development, including UI design.
- Web development and UI design.
- Static software analysis and reverse engineering
The internship offers the opportunity to work in an international research environment under the supervision of Dr. Narseo Vallina-Rodriguez, with the possibility of continuing as an MSc thesis or contributing to research publications. Please note that this position requires on-site work at IMDEA Networks and does not support remote or hybrid arrangements.
