- Deploy and administer Dynatrace across a large application portfolio
- Implement and maintain Dynatrace Synthetic Monitoring
- Configure and optimize Splunk monitoring solutions
- Design monitoring standards for applications and infrastructure
- Build dashboards, alerts, events, and thresholds
- Tune alerting to minimize false positives while improving issue detection
- Work with application teams to onboard monitoring for new applications
- Collaborate with Production Support during incident response and troubleshooting
- Develop scripts to automate monitoring administration and reporting
- Analyze monitoring data to identify trends and performance bottlenecks
- Drive continuous improvements that reduce MTTR and increase application reliability

Requirements
Monitoring Tools Engineer Overview We are seeking an experienced Monitoring Tools Engineer to support and enhance enterprise monitoring platforms across a large banking environment. This engineer will be responsible for implementing, optimizing, and maintaining proactive monitoring solutions that improve operational visibility, reduce Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), and prevent production incidents. The ideal candidate has deep hands-on experience with Dynatrace and Splunk, understands infrastructure and application monitoring, and can partner closely with application, production support, and infrastructure teams to drive monitoring best practices. Must-Have Skills
- 5+ years of enterprise monitoring/observability engineering experience
- 3+ years of hands-on Dynatrace administration and implementation
- 3+ years of hands-on Splunk administration and monitoring
- Experience implementing Dynatrace Synthetic Monitoring
- Strong experience designing monitoring strategies for enterprise applications
- Experience configuring:
- Dashboards
- Alerts
- Events
- Thresholds
- Notifications
- Proven success reducing Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) through proactive monitoring
- Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash, Shell, or similar)
- Strong Unix/Linux administration experience
- Windows Server administration experience
- Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancing, HTTP/S, firewalls)
Preferred Skills
- Financial services or large enterprise experience
- Experience supporting hundreds or thousands of applications
- Application Performance Monitoring (APM)
- Infrastructure monitoring
- Cloud monitoring (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- ITIL / Production Support experience
- ServiceNow
- Automation of monitoring deployments
- Log analytics and event correlation
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
