Job description

The Senior Software Engineer will help shape the software interfaces that connect the world’s leading industrial simulation platforms with Realtime Robotics’ motion planning technology. Reporting to the manager of the API scrum team, you’ll build the connectors that serve as the entry point into our platform while helping design and evolve the external APIs that developers use to integrate with our technology. This team sits at the intersection of robotics, simulation, cloud software, and AI. You’ll work across multiple engineering teams to deliver a seamless developer and user experience spanning diverse simulation environments, while contributing to emerging AI-driven workflows. Your work will directly influence how customers and AI-powered tools interact with our platform as the next generation of Physical AI applications continues to evolve., * Design, develop, test and maintain new features that extend the capabilities and performance of our product, using primarily C# with occasional use of Python or C++

  • Design and build connectors that integrate industry-leading robotics simulation environments with our motion planning platform, creating a consistent and intuitive user experience across multiple tools
  • Contribute to the design, evolution, and long-term reliability of our external developer API, with a strong focus on usability, stability, and developer experience
  • Collaborate with engineers across motion planning, cloud platform, validation, applications engineering, and product management to deliver innovative solutions for industrial robotics
  • Help expand our platform’s AI capabilities by contributing to developer tooling and AI-native interfaces

Requirements

  • MSc / PhD in Computer Science or a related field with 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Strong foundations in software engineering practices such as version control (Git), testing, code reviews, debugging and design patterns
  • 3+ years of experience with C# development, ideally with .NET Framework 4.x and a good understanding of C# standards and best practices
  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining APIs consumed by other services or external clients and with evolving them over time while keeping existing consumers working
  • Ability to quickly comprehend and digest existing codebases

The ideal candidate has experience in many of the following areas:

  • A background in robotics or industrial automation with a good understanding of the underlying mathematical concepts (e.g. vectors, matrices, coordinate systems, joint/configuration space, kinematics)
  • Building developer-focused APIs, including OpenAPI/Swagger, API versioning strategies, authentication, usage quotas, and rate limiting
  • Model Context Protocol (MCP), AI agent integrations, or a strong interest in building software interfaces for the next generation of AI-powered engineering tools
  • CI/CD environments such as GitLab or GitHub, with experience delivering high-quality software through modern development workflows
  • Familiarity with industrial simulation tools (e.g. Siemens Process Simulate, Visual Components, MELSOFT Gemini or Dassault Systemes DELMIA) and their APIs
  • Experience with the effective use of AI coding assistants to produce clean, maintainable and performant code (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor), * Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a globally distributed engineering organization
  • Passion for building the software that powers the future of industrial automation and Physical AI
  • Curious, collaborative, and eager to learn new technologies across robotics, simulation, cloud software, and artificial intelligence
  • Comfortable working across teams to solve complex technical challenges and deliver exceptional customer experiences
  • Takes ownership, proactively identifies opportunities for improvement, and enjoys transforming complex engineering problems into elegant software solutions

Benefits & conditions

  • Unlimited PTO
  • Commuting Expenses Covered
  • Telecommunications Stipend
