Job description

Seeking a Kibana Dashboard Software Engineer to support the Innovations Group on the GSM-O II Program as part of the End-to-End Visualization Team. Candidates must be within driving distance of Scott AFB. A Secret clearance is required at start, and Security+ certification must be obtained within 14 days of employment.

As a key member of the team, you will work in a fast-paced Agile environment to architect, design, and develop a unified UX/UI that delivers a single-pane-of-glass interface on the Kibana platform. You will collaborate with end users and support teams to gather requirements and develop UI mockups and wireframes.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Gather, clean, and validate data from multiple sources
  • Analyze datasets to identify trends and actionable insights
  • Design and develop interactive dashboards and visualizations in Kibana
  • Apply UI/UX design principles (visual hierarchy, layout, typography, color theory, accessibility)
  • Translate data insights into recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define business and data requirements
  • Maintain data pipelines to ensure quality and reliability
  • Build self-service analytics tools and reusable data assets
  • Document data models, transformations, and workflows
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline with 2+ years of related experience (coursework and/or internships acceptable) 1+ year of experience designing, developing, and deploying dashboards and reports using the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Beats) 2+ years of UX/UI architecture, design, development, and delivery experience Strong documentation skills with ability to create architecture diagrams and wireframes Experience with Python, Java, and SQL; working knowledge of HTML and JavaScript Experience with version control tools such as Git and Bitbucket, * Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field with 2+ years of related experience

  • 1+ year of experience with Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Beats)
  • 2+ years of UX/UI design and development experience
  • Experience with Python, Java, SQL, HTML, and JavaScript
  • Experience with Git or similar version control systems
  • Experience working in UNIX/Linux environments
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to obtain Secret clearance prior to start
  • Ability to obtain Security+ (or equivalent IAT II certification) within 60 days
  • Ability to commute to Ft. Meade, MD; Hill AFB, UT; or Scott AFB, IL for onsite support
  • Experience working in fast-paced, technical environments with Agile teams
  • Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and CI/CD practices, * Experience with Elastic Stack for data analysis and visualization
  • Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Grafana
  • Experience building self-service analytics solutions
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies
  • Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance practices
  • Experience documenting data models and workflows
  • Experience in DoD or mission-driven environments (DISA experience a plus)
  • Understanding of networking concepts and device configurations
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, Kubernetes, and containerization
  • Experience with AWS GovCloud environments
  • Strong communication skills and experience working with distributed teams
