Job description
Insight Global is seeking a Site Reliability Automation Engineer (Infrastructure) in Hyderabad, India to join a large-scale, global enterprise undergoing significant infrastructure modernization. This individual will play a key role in transforming how infrastructure is delivered by introducing scalable automation across a complex, on-premise environment. This position is ideal for someone who combines hands-on technical expertise with the ability to design automation strategies that improve reliability, reduce operational overhead, and support ongoing transformation initiatives.
Some of the responsibilities include but limited to:
- Lead the strategy and execution of infrastructure automation initiatives across compute, storage, and backup domains
- Develop and standardize repeatable automation frameworks to eliminate manual work
- Architect solutions that connect multiple tools into a cohesive automation ecosystem
- Support major transformation efforts, including a VMware to Nutanix migration
- Build and maintain reusable IaC modules to accelerate provisioning and deployment
- Partner with engineering, operations, and security to ensure aligned and scalable solutions
- Improve reliability by reducing incidents, manual errors, and operational inefficiencies
- Guide and mentor engineers while acting as the automation subject matter expert
- Drive adoption of automation practices and track measurable improvements in performance and efficiency
Requirements
12-15+ years of on-prem data center infrastructure + automation experience
- Strong expertise with Terraform, Ansible, Python, and PowerShell
- Proven ability to design and build automation/IaC frameworks from scratch
- Hands-on experience automating VMs, servers, storage, and backup operations
- Experience with VMware (required) and willingness or exposure to Nutanix
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Strong leadership/project ownership experience
- Exposure to Rundeck or orchestration platforms (e.g., Spinnaker)
- Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure transformations or M&A integrations
- Familiarity with enterprise storage solutions (Dell EMC, Pure Storage, Isilon, etc.)
- Experience working with modern backup/recovery platforms like Rubrik or Cohesity
- Prior experience in environments with managed services partners (such as HCL)
- Background working in globally distributed teams
