Job description

Work you’ll do/Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize, and maintain core Python applications and services, ensuring high code quality, performance, and reliability across the software stack.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable solutions, troubleshoot complex issues, and support end-to-end delivery of Python-based components and integrations. .
  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud architectures, configurations, and operational procedures. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team. Communicate regularly with Engagement Managers (Directors), project team members, and representatives from various functional and / or technical teams, including escalating any matters that require additional attention and consideration from engagement management

Our AI & Engineering - Industry Solutions teams works with the Customer group to bring a flexible capability and fluid capacity model to the delivery of small technology projects and enhancements.

Requirements

  • 6+yrs Python (Advanced Python proficiency with strong command of both functional and object-oriented (OOP) programming paradigms. )
  • Demonstrated experience building production-grade applications with an emphasis on scalability, maintainability, and performance.
  • Strong expertise in concurrency and parallelism, including:
  • Multithreading and multiprocessing
  • Synchronous and asynchronous programming (e.g., async/await)
  • Designing for throughput, latency, and safe shared-state handling
  • Proven experience integrating with external systems via application interfaces, including:
  • Building and consuming RESTful APIs
  • Authentication/authorization patterns (e.g., API keys, OAuth where applicable)
  • Reliable integration patterns (timeouts, retries, idempotency, error handling)
  • Strong SQL skills, including the ability to write efficient, complex queries (joins, aggregations, window functions) and optimize performance where needed.
  • Knowledge of Apache Spark and distributed data processing concepts or supporting Spark applications (e.g., Spark SQL, DataFrames, performance tuning basics, partitioning/shuffles).
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
  • Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $124,700 to $207,800.
