Job description

Our client is seeking a Platform DevOps Engineer to join our client’s Operations team. This is a position with a newly defined skill set designed to align with the organization’s evolving operations structure. This operations team is divided into two focus areas: Application Operations and Platform Operations, allowing team members to develop deeper subject matter expertise while continuing to support the broader Operations organization., This role sits within the Platform Operations team and is ideal for someone early in their career who possesses strong technical aptitude, a passion for learning, and a desire to grow into a long-term career opportunity. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to expand their technical knowledge across cloud, infrastructure, Kubernetes, automation, and production support environments. This individual will join the Platform Operations team supporting critical Ordering Back Office (OBO) systems and infrastructure. The Engineer II will work alongside senior engineers to maintain, support, troubleshoot, and improve containerized application environments while gaining exposure to cloud platforms, Kubernetes operations, automation, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools, and infrastructure management. They will assist with production support activities, investigate system and application issues, analyze logs and monitoring metrics, participate in incident response efforts, and contribute to operational documentation and runbooks. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, eager to learn, and excited to develop deep technical expertise while growing within a team-oriented and highly collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Operations, or a related technical field

  • Foundational knowledge of Kubernetes including:

  • Pods

  • Deployments

  • Services

  • ConfigMaps

  • Secrets

  • Experience with Docker and containerization fundamentals

  • Linux administration experience

  • Experience using Git and source control best practices

  • Understanding of CI/CD pipeline concepts and tools such as GitLab or Harness

  • Basic Infrastructure as Code experience utilizing Terraform

  • Fundamental cloud knowledge within AWS and/or GCP

  • Networking fundamentals including DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, and Load Balancing

  • Basic scripting skills using Bash, Python, or PowerShell

  • Experience troubleshooting applications, infrastructure, or Kubernetes environments

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills

  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to learn new technologies * Helm chart deployment and configuration experience

  • Blue/Green deployment experience

  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as:

  • Datadog APM

  • Splunk

  • Prometheus

  • Grafana

  • AppDynamics

  • Knowledge of certificate management practices

  • Understanding of Identity & Access Management (IAM) and RBAC concepts

  • Experience supporting production systems and responding to incidents

  • Exposure to operational documentation and runbook creation

  • Knowledge of database connectivity concepts including Oracle, MongoDB, Redis, and PostgreSQL
