Job description

A3 Technology, Inc. is seeking a Computer Scientist to join our team in Egg Harbor Township, NJ.

Daily Duties:

  • Design, develop, and maintain Java applications.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Develop and maintain unit tests to ensure code quality.
  • Package and deploy Java applications as containerized services.
  • Configure and troubleshoot container networking, including port mappings.
  • Develop automation scripts using Shell and Ansible where appropriate.
  • Support second-level production issues and troubleshoot application defects.
  • Manage source code using Git or other version control systems.
  • Collaborate with software developers, infrastructure engineers, and other cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in Java application development.
  • Experience developing and deploying containerized applications (e.g., Docker or Podman).
  • Experience packaging Java applications into containers and configuring networking, including container port mapping.
  • Familiarity with publish/subscribe messaging and enterprise messaging technologies such as JMS, Solace, Apache Camel, or similar.
  • Experience working in Linux environments.
  • Experience supporting software development and/or infrastructure engineering teams.
  • Experience writing unit tests using frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito, with an understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  • Experience using build and dependency management tools such as Maven.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Java Certificate or SW Engineering certificate preferred.

Skills Preferred:

  • Organizational and facilitation skills.
  • Experience with Ansible automation.
  • Familiarity with database access and data retrieval (SQL or similar).
  • Experience supporting enterprise Java applications in production environments.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 3-6 years relevant experience.

Additionally, US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US is a must. Upon receiving a conditional offer of employment, candidates will undergo a Government investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for Government clearance. Verification of past employment, education and references is also required. It is imperative that candidates be either a US citizen or a current green card holder with the last 3 consecutive years as a resident of the US.

Benefits & conditions

The salary range for positions is $50,000 to $175,000. This range is provided as a general guideline and should not be interpreted as a guarantee of compensation. Actual salary offers will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the specific responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. In addition, compensation may be influenced by applicable Federal Government contract labor categories and established contract wage rates.
