Job description

George Fox University’s IT Department is seeking a highly skilled and motivated team player to serve as a Temporary IT Agentic AI Architect.

In this role, you will do more than just use software; you will be the architect of intelligent solutions. Join a team that will together explore, design, and build autonomous, agentic AI systems that actively solve complex problems and serve business needs.   • Designing and prototyping intelligent, autonomous AI solutions.
  • Experimenting with innovative approaches to solving complex business challenges.
  • Collaborating across teams to discover and develop new AI opportunities.
  • Evaluating AI tools, platforms, and frameworks for institutional use.
  • Shaping ethical, secure, and responsible AI practices.
  • Advancing AI innovation through research, testing, and continuous learning.
  • Translating ideas into scalable AI solutions that support university goals.
  • Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.
  • By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.
  • Demonstrating awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, expressions of faith, etc. and works well with a variety of people.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience with common API methods such as REST.
  • Fluency with common AI platforms such as Gemini, ChatGPT, and Claude.
  • The ability to shadow administrative staff and capture business processes in a visual format.
  • The ability to organize work into milestones and timelines.
  • The desire to learn about and explore new technologies.
  • The ability to periodically present progress through presentation content and demonstrations.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States. This position does not offer visa sponsorship; therefore, only applicants who do not require sponsorship for employment visas, now or at any point in the future, should apply.
  • A commitment to the University’s Theology of Racial and Ethnic Diversity.
