Job description

  • Design, develop, and implement Azure data lakes and database solutions.
  • Build and maintain relational and non-relational databases within Azure.
  • Develop and optimize data transformation processes and workflows.
  • Administer, monitor, and secure Azure database environments.
  • Design efficient data storage, access patterns, and performance optimization strategies.
  • Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, development, and security teams.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation.
  • Support CI/CD deployment processes for database solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.
  • Mentor other engineers and provide technical guidance.
  • Participate in knowledge transfer and ongoing operational support.

Requirements

Staff Tech is seeking an experienced Azure Data Lake Engineer / Azure Database Engineer to support a large-scale enterprise data modernization initiative. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior cloud data professional with extensive experience designing and implementing Azure-based database and data lake solutions in complex enterprise environments.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Azure data services, database engineering, cloud infrastructure, and data transformation while serving as a technical resource and mentor within the team., * 7+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing Azure data lakes and Azure database solutions.

  • Strong experience with Azure SQL databases and related Azure data services.
  • Experience with Azure Databricks.
  • Strong Oracle database experience.
  • Experience developing and implementing data transformation solutions.
  • Experience loading and processing data using Azure data utilities.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts.
  • Experience with:

  • Azure Data Factory
  • Azure Monitor
  • SQL Analytics
  • Query Performance Insight
  • Azure Resource Manager (ARM)
  • Azure CLI and/or PowerShell

Experience implementing backup and disaster recovery strategies.

Strong understanding of Azure security, including role-based access control (RBAC), encryption, and network security.

Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Experience mentoring technical team members.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing enterprise-scale Azure Lakehouse environments.
  • Knowledge of data modeling, schema design, and indexing strategies.
  • Experience administering enterprise data warehouse environments.
  • Experience with Teradata Data Warehouse.
  • Experience supporting enterprise cloud modernization initiatives.
