As a Software Engineer Principal within PNC’s Asset Management Group organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA; Philadelphia, PA; Cleveland, OH; Dallas, TX; Birmingham, AL; Denver, CO; or Phoenix, AZ.

  1. Java Application Development & Modern Architecture

Strong experience developing and supporting enterprise applications using Java., * Aligns business strategy with software solutions.

  • Proposes, designs & codes software solutions to address complex business needs. Oversees technical and procedural documentation required.
  • Leads complex problem solving.
  • Provides technical guidance and support to colleagues and solution development.
  • Displays an innovative approach to apply modern principles, methodologies and tools to advance business initiatives and capabilities.

Requirements

Expertise building scalable, resilient microservices and APIs.

Experience with application modernization initiatives, including migrations from legacy technologies to open-source and enterprise-supported platforms.

Knowledge of design patterns, performance optimization, and secure coding practices.

  1. Front-End Development & User Experience

Hands-on experience developing modern web applications using Angular.

Ability to build responsive, user-centric interfaces and integrate seamlessly with backend services.

Familiarity with component-based architecture, state management, and UI modernization efforts.

  1. Event-Driven Architecture & Integration

Experience leveraging Kafka for messaging, event streaming, and enterprise integrations.

Understanding of distributed systems, asynchronous processing, and high-volume transaction environments.

Ability to collaborate with shared services and enterprise integration teams to deliver scalable solutions.

  1. DevOps, CI/CD & Platform Engineering

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes, preferably utilizing Jenkins.

Knowledge of cloud-native development practices, infrastructure automation, monitoring, and operational support.

Ability to improve application reliability, deployment efficiency, and delivery velocity.

Preferred / Bonus Skill:

Experience with Flowable BPM or similar Business Process Management (BPM) platforms is highly desirable.

Exposure to workflow automation, business process orchestration, and enterprise Flowable implementations will be considered a strong advantage., Successful candidates must demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for a role.
