Full Stack Java and GCP Engineer

A client of Insight Global is seeking an experienced Full Stack Engineer to support a highly visible Enterprise Payments Platform responsible for payment origination, processing, disbursement, and settlement capabilities. This role will focus on designing, developing, and supporting cloud-native applications and APIs that power large-scale payment operations.

The ideal candidate combines strong full-stack engineering expertise with deep Google Cloud Platform (GCP) knowledge and a passion for building secure, scalable, high-performing solutions in an agile environment.

You will work closely with product owners, business stakeholders, architects, and enterprise technology teams to deliver innovative payment solutions while ensuring operational excellence and production stability., Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications and services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Build and enhance backend services using Java, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot Develop responsive front-end applications and user experiences using React Design, build, and support secure RESTful APIs for internal and external integrations Partner with architecture and integration teams to implement scalable service-oriented solutions Contribute to API strategy utilizing API management technologies such as Apigee or API Gateway Support payment processing systems handling high-volume transaction workloads Participate in production support, root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and performance tuning Implement DevOps best practices including CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, and observability Collaborate within Agile/Scrum teams to deliver new capabilities and enhancements Ensure compliance with security, risk, and enterprise architecture standards

5+ years of software engineering experience Strong hands-on development experience with Java, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot Experience designing and implementing secure REST APIs Familiarity with API management such as Apigee/API Gateway Strong front-end development experience with React for building web applications Experience deploying and supporting solutions in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience in payments, banking, fintech, or transaction processing environments Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, or containerized deployments Experience with messaging/event-driven architectures Familiarity with security and authentication protocols such as OAuth2, JWT, and OpenID Connect Experience with monitoring and observability tools Knowledge of payment networks, settlement processes, and financial transaction systems
