Job description

The Data Engineer is responsible for activities related to the data collection, management, maintenance, reporting and analysis for internal and/or external stakeholders. The Data Engineer uses data modeling, business analysis, and technology to transform high volumes of complex data into advanced analytic solutions including not limited to population health, cost accounting, and quality. The individual plays a critical role in supporting all of Torrance Memorial’s Population Health data needs and turning data into insights., * Oversee and support the collection, cleansing, and data validation of all reportable data, including data from external sources and the Enterprise Data Warehouse (Oracle Cerner HealtheIntent) system.

  • Ensures all data collected meets quality standards before uploading to EDW/ HealtheIntent.
  • Utilizes available tools or develops new solutions to automate and expedite accurate, complete, and efficient data uploading on EDW.
  • Ensures secure transmission of all data end to end.
  • Understands how the data uploaded into the EDW platform goes through various algorithms and routinely checks data ingested into the platform via tools like Data Ingestion Tool (DIT).
  • Develops and implement SQL queries, ETL solutions and other strategies that facilitate and streamline data management and reporting needs.
  • Support ad-hoc data requests as well as work with internal, external and vendor teams to troubleshoot and resolve any potential data issues.
  • Identifies issues in data pipelines and logs appropriate service tickets with vendors to ensure proper vendor engagement.
  • Develops advanced skills and technical expertise on SQL query language and tool sets (SSIS, SSRS), BI tools (Tableau, Business Objects, etc.), and Cerner HealtheIntent system.
  • Develops extensive understanding of all of Torrance Memorial data sources.
  • Collaborates on data quality conditions and monitoring with subject matter experts.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Tableau?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, Degree Program Bachelors Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics Mathematics., Number of Years Experience Type of Experience 5 5 or more years of exp in design, development and support or large scale data warehouses.
