Job description

To further strengthen our digital capabilities, Munich Re continues to invest strategically in IT and data platforms. The position Solution Architect is a high-impact position within our global center of excellence for Informatica Data Integration, supporting stable operations today while shaping the data platforms of the future. Led by the Global Specialty Insurance (GSI) unit, the team drives the delivery of our strategic data platforms by setting architectural standards, provide expert consulting and support project delivery across ERGO, MEAG, Reinsurance and GSI. This role will help the organization to implement what is needed to deliver our strategic data platforms. Work will include, but not limited to the end to end support for Cloud Data Governance based on Informatica to support data solution architecture design for acquisition, organization, integration, transformation and secure storage of mission-critical data. While operating the Informatica Platform within GSI, we ensure consistent, enterprise-wide services and standards for data integration to achieve a unified, reliable, and scalable data foundation for the entire Munich Re group.

As a IT Solution Architect, you are responsible for designing, implementing, and managing data governance frameworks using Informatica’s Cloud Data Governance & Catalog (CDGC) within the Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC). You will be accountable for driving a high-quality platform design and development which supports system performance at optimal operational cost under the circumstances of flexibility and future change. In this role, you will work with product owners, product architects and development leads to ensure that the platform vision and roadmap is implemented with a, state-of-the-art and easily accessible technology stack. Moreover, you will evaluate and adopt new technologies and tooling which can deliver a competitive advantage of our digital platforms.

You are accountable for achieving successful project outcomes, including the management of diverging interests of various stakeholders. As a Solution Architect, you work closely with the CoE architecture team to drive the journey towards multi-cloud-based data integration capability. Moreover, you will evaluate and adopt new technologies and tooling which can deliver a competitive advantage of our digital platforms., This position also requires sound technical skills, the ability to collaborate across teams both on- and offshore, and think both from an operational and delivery IT mindset.

  • Work closely in partnership with data management, governance leads, data solution architects, and data engineers to ensure that projects are delivered at or under budget and follow all compliance, regulatory, and data standards/guidelines for Informatica usage.
  • Partner with large system integrators and software vendors to support the delivery of the programs that align to our data strategy.
  • Work with multiple delivery teams on a given program to ensure requirements are obtained, work has been properly identified, and engineers across the team can support the delivery of our data capabilities.
  • Partner with technical teams across both the GSI Data Team as well other peer organizations to ensure that solutions are aligned to the business needs and follow enterprise standards and guidelines.
  • Deliver proof-of-concepts, pilot solutions and applications through hands-on guidance, development and expertise
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architects, solution architects, and technical teams to deliver compliant, cost-effective projects aligned with business needs.
  • Develop and execute strategic roadmaps and cost models for Data Governance aligned with organizational goals.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, partner with IT Architecture teams to recommend and implement tools & solutions that enhance Data Governance capabilities.
  • Uphold compliance, security, and regular audit updates.
  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships at multiple levels with Munich Re stakeholders.

Requirements

  • University degree preferably in Computer engineering / IT or similar qualification
  • Over 7+ years as Solution Architect for global software products, experience in the following areas: data architecture, data governance or master data management
  • Track record of successful implementations that delivered value to the business
  • Proactive self-starter, skilled at cross-functional collaboration and influencing stakeholders for guidance and achieve results
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of technology with the ability to understand and articulate customer problems, solutions, and possible impacts.
  • Ability to work in a complicated global group environment. Experienced managing expectations when balancing alternatives against business and financial constraints and able to estimate the financial impact of architecture alternatives.
  • Extensive experience with compliance, security, and regular audit requirements
  • Informatica Data Governance product knowledge preferred, with experience in Data Integration capabilities in Informatica Data Management Cloud are beneficial
  • Ideally, knowledge of business processes in the re-/insurance industry
  • Consulting and strong collaborative working style creating a culture of accountability and sharing
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with senior leaders and stakeholders
  • Experienced and motivated to work in a globally distributed team
  • Demonstrated a willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required in execution of duties

The Company is open to considering candidates in Princeton, NJ. The salary range posted below applies to the Company’s Princeton location.

$141,800 - $207,900 paid time off, paid holidays, 401(k) United States, New Jersey, Princeton Jun 30, 2026, The base salary range anticipated for this position is $141,800 - $207,900 plus opportunity for company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay. In addition, the company makes available a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).

The salary estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for candidates hired in this position in Princeton. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range.
