Job description
The Data Center Infrastructure Specialist, Junior is responsible for the physical
installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the hardware and cabling that powers large-scale computing environments.
Core Responsibilities
-
Physically installing servers, routers, and switches into racks and cabinets.

Routing, labeling, and terminating copper (Cat5e/Cat6) and fiber optic cabling to
maintain a clean and organized infrastructure.
- Diagnosing and replacing faulty components like hard drives, memory (DIMMs),
and power supplies.
- Utilize Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools to monitor power
Requirements
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and spend 8+ hours
a day standing or walking in a noisy environment.
- Familiarity with computer hardware, network protocols (TCP/IP), and Operating
Systems (Linux/Windows).
- Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot connectivity or hardware failures under
pressure.
Education & Certifications:

Top Secret or higher security clearance

2+ years of experience in mission critical data center environments and/or
cabling
- High School Diploma; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT or Computer
Science is preferred for higher-tier roles.
- Industry-recognized credentials like CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Network+,
or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), etc.
