Job description

  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders and other engineers to develop new and unique data-driven solutions using Big Data platforms, creative analytical methods, and data visualization techniques (Data Modeling etc.)
  • Connect and build pipelines between various data sources
  • Support operational improvement and business decision making through ad-hoc statistical analysis of curated enterprise data and self-constructed data sets
  • Leading BI software development, deployment, and maintenance
  • Documenting contents in a data warehouse and meta-data storage
  • Creating technical documentation for BI tools
  • Data modeling
  • Develop KPI dashboards
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • Act with honesty and integrity and make ethical business choices in accordance with Magna’s Compliance Policies and Procedures

Requirements

Magna is looking for Data Engineer to support their data initiatives which will modernize their environment and set them up for future opportunities in the data space (AI, ML, etc). We are looking for a passionate individual who is self learner, has good communication skills and inclination for new technologies., * Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Supply Chain or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Minimum three (3) years of related experience required
  • Expertise in using advance level calculations on the data sets
  • In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework
  • Strong experience with relational databases like SQL Server, MySQL, and Oracle. NoSQL databases experience is a plus
  • Experience with user-defined workflows

Your preferred qualifications

  • Working knowledge of data management software like Data factory, or other ETL tools a plus.
  • Knowledgeable of statistical methods such as regression, probability analysis, risk analysis, statistical process control, and clustering is desired
  • Able to implement row level security on data and understand application security layer models
  • Data and business analysis background
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to explain Production / technical concepts and analysis implications clearly to a wide audience and be able to translate business objectives into actionable analyses.
