Job description

As the Software Developer, you will be responsible for design and development of key/critical modules within the Communicable Disease Reporting and Surveillance System (CDRSS)., We are looking for a Software Developer for a contract opportunity that is hybrid in Trenton, NJ . This position will be responsible for design and development of key/critical modules within the Communicable Disease Reporting and Surveillance System (CDRSS)., * Analyzes, designs, codes, and performs component and assembly testing of all application code owned by the Application Team.

  • Understand the functional requirements and technical specifications of projects necessary for implementing technical solutions.
  • Work effectively both as an individual contributor as well as a member of the development team in designing, developing and testing software application solutions.
  • Work with functional groups both internal to Client Technology Service Group (e.g., project management, network operations.) and external in order to provide tightly integrated solutions for the web applications and backend systems.
  • Provide accurate estimates for design and programming efforts for system changes and enhancements.
  • Identify appropriate business examples to illustrate key concepts/ features.
  • Ensuring that technical documentation and technical artifacts are accurately prepared, maintained, and cataloged

Requirements

  • Hands-on software development experience (3+ years) designing, building, and testing web applications and backend services aligned to defined functional requirements and technical specifications.
  • Proficiency in SDLC practices including estimating effort, delivering enhancements/changes, and producing/maintaining technical documentation and artifacts.
  • Experience collaborating across technical and functional teams (e.g., project management, network operations, business stakeholders) to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings
  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor

Benefits & conditions

$65 per hour

The pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
