Job description

This is the most important technology hire Resilite will make this year. You will be the internal owner of our ERP platform - the person who works alongside our implementation partner through the Odoo v19 migration, serves as the bridge between the business and the technical team, and becomes the long-term systems expert who keeps everything running after go-live.

This is a business systems role, not a pure development role. You’ll spend as much time in conversations with department leads about how orders flow through production as you will writing code. You need to understand manufacturing operations, care about data integrity, and be comfortable being the person everyone comes to when the system doesn’t do what they expect.

What You’ll OwnYear One: Migration & Stabilization

  • Serve as the internal project lead for the Odoo v16 * v19 migration, partnering with OSI’s consulting team
  • Coordinate cross-departmental requirements gathering, testing, and user acceptance across sales, production, shipping, trucking, accounting, and warranty
  • Own the data cleanup and migration: BOMs, product categories, chart of accounts, customer records, inventory valuations
  • Manage the configurator rebuild - our products have 68+ attributes and complex pricing logic that needs to work correctly
  • Lead user acceptance testing (UAT) with every department before go-live
  • Become the internal knowledge owner: the person who understands how and why the system is configured the way it is
  • Coordinate training alongside OSI - ensure every team member can do their job in the new system

Ongoing: Systems Ownership

  • Maintain and support the Odoo environment: configuration, user access, data integrity, performance
  • Develop and customize modules as needed using Python, XML, and Odoo’s framework
  • Build and maintain integrations between Odoo and external systems (Shopify, shipping platforms, payment processing, customer portals)
  • Create operational dashboards and reports for leadership - sales performance, production throughput, trucking efficiency, warranty KPIs
  • Support the controller and finance team with structured data, GL analysis, and reporting accuracy
  • Document everything you build - system configurations, integration logic, report definitions - so the knowledge doesn’t live only in your head
  • Evaluate and onboard new tools with an eye toward clean data flow into Odoo as the system of record

Future Growth: Automation & Intelligence

Once the platform is stable and the team is confident, there’s significant opportunity to build AI-assisted workflows (automated customer communications, warranty intake, procurement routing, production scheduling optimization) and expand integrations. This is where the role grows - but only after the foundation is solid., * Experience with Odoo, or hands-on experience with a comparable ERP platform (NetSuite, SAP Business One, Dynamics) in a role where you owned configuration and daily operations, not just used it, * You think in business processes, not just code. When someone describes a problem, your first question is “what are you trying to accomplish?” not “what module is that?”

  • You’ve worked in a company where you could walk to the production floor and see the impact of a system change in real time
  • You document what you build so it outlasts you
  • You’re the kind of person who reads the business context before writing a line of code
  • You can sit in a room with a controller, a production manager, and a shipping coordinator and make all three feel heard
  • You’re energized by the idea of building something, not just maintaining something

What You Can Expect

  • A company that has done the hard preparation work - documented workflows, aligned leadership, clear priorities, and a top-tier implementation partner already selected
  • Direct collaboration with the President and department leads - your work is visible and valued
  • A stable, family-owned manufacturer with 50+ years of history and a strong market position in collegiate athletics
  • The opportunity to build the IT systems function from the ground up and shape how the company operates for years to come
  • A company in active transformation: ERP migration, new product lines, and growing market segments
  • On-site in Northumberland, PA with flexibility for occasional remote work after onboarding - this role requires regular face-to-face time with production, shipping, and leadership

Requirements

Do you have experience in SQL?, * SQL proficiency - you can query a relational database to answer business questions, troubleshoot data issues, and build reports

  • Working knowledge of Python or willingness to develop it quickly - Odoo customization runs on Python
  • Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or operations environment - you understand BOMs, inventory, production scheduling, and order-to-ship workflows
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical people, and business requirements to technical people - you’re the translator
  • Comfort being the sole systems person - you own the decisions, the documentation, and the accountability

Strongly Preferred

  • Odoo module development experience (Python + XML)
  • REST API design and integration experience
  • Experience with data migration between ERP versions or platforms
  • Familiarity with BI or dashboard tools (Power BI, Metabase, Looker, or Odoo’s native reporting)
  • Linux/Ubuntu server administration
  • Version control (Git)
  • Experience working alongside an external implementation partner

Nice to Have (Future Growth Areas)

  • Exposure to AI/LLM workflow tools (n8n, Make, Zapier, or custom API chains)
  • JavaScript / OWL for Odoo frontend customization
  • ETL or data pipeline tooling experience
  • E-commerce integration experience (Shopify)

About the company

Resilite Sports Products is a specialty athletic mat manufacturer with approximately 85 employees. We build wrestling mats, gymnastics equipment, wall padding, and climbing surfaces for schools, colleges, and athletic organizations across the country. Our operations span sales, production, trucking, and customer service - all connected through our Odoo ERP platform.

We are in the early stages of a major ERP transformation. Over the past several months, our leadership team has documented current-state workflows across every department, identified non-negotiable priorities, and selected an implementation partner (Open Source Integrators, Odoo’s Best Partner North America). The internal work is done. We need someone to own the technical execution/change management.
