Job description

The Director, GTO Digital Initiatives leads the day-to-day delivery of priority digital transformation initiatives within the GTO digital portfolio. This role converts portfolio priorities into executable delivery plans, coordinates matrixed contributors, strengthens governance and delivery field, and provides portfolio management support to the Senior Director, GTO Digital Transformation., Digital Initiative Delivery

* Lead delivery execution: Lead day-to-day delivery of assigned GTO digital initiatives, beginning with the Biologics Digital Tech Transfer workstream and growing to other priority initiatives as portfolio needs evolve. * Manage pilots and workstreams: Own planning, execution, achievement tracking, risk management, dependency management, and readiness for scale for assigned pilots and workstreams. * Translate strategy into execution: Convert priorities established by the Senior Director and governance teams into executable delivery plans, achievements, decision points, and blocking issue pathways. * Represent Biologics requirements: Ensure Biologics requirements are represented across Development, Commercial, Alexion, and site perspectives for the initial DTT anchor program. * Coordinate enabling partners: Partner with Data, Architecture, IT, PMO, Enterprise Data Office, and other capability teams to support foundations, domain models, semantic layers, integrations, and governance needs.

Portfolio Management Support:

* Maintain portfolio tracking: Manage portfolio tracking, delivery cadence, status reporting, dependency views, and governance materials on behalf of the Senior Director. * Prepare governance updates: Develop clear program and governance updates that proactively surface risks, blockers, decision needs, and resource gaps. * Support intake and roadmap hygiene: Maintain intake subject area and roadmap updates while recognizing that prioritization, scope approval, and trade-off decisions remain with the Senior Director.

Financial and Delivery Management

* Track initiative financials: Own forecast versus actual spend, accruals, cross-charges, vendor and purchase order status, and budget risks for assigned initiatives and workstreams. * Track delivery performance: Maintain project and task tracking for breakthroughs, risks, actions, dependencies, resource demand, and delivery readiness. * Provide regular reporting: Report financial and delivery status on a defined cadence without requiring repeated follow-up.

Transformation and Future-State Build

* Drive process re imagination: Advance simplification, automation, AI-enabled workflows, knowledge retention, and scalable future-state ways of working. * Translate concepts into delivery: Convert transformation opportunities into pilots, use cases, business capabilities, delivery plans, and measurable outcomes. * Challenge status quo: Help move programs beyond simple digitization toward redesigned, data-enabled, and AI-ready tech transfer processes., * Assigned digital initiatives are delivered with clear ownership, governance, cadence, risk management, and readiness for scale.

  • Biologics requirements are consistently represented across Development, Commercial, Alexion, site, data, architecture, and enterprise program forums.
  • Spend, resource demand, vendor and purchase order status, milestones, risks, and dependencies are proactively tracked and reported.
  • Sponsor capacity is increased by shifting day-to-day delivery leadership for assigned initiatives to this role while strategic and enterprise accountability remains with the Senior Director.
  • Programs advance beyond status-quo digitization toward simplified, data-enabled, and AI-ready future-state tech transfer processes.

Requirements

* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, Information Systems, Data Science, Business, or a related field. * Minimum 10+ years of experience

  • Demonstrated experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, manufacturing, technical operations, digital transformation, program delivery, or related areas.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, matrixed digital transformation programs in manufacturing, technical operations, tech transfer, process development, MS&T, quality, data, or other regulated environments.
  • Strong program and project management capabilities with the ability to lead teams and workstreams without direct line authority.
  • Strong financial management skills, including experience with forecasts, actual spend, accruals, vendor status, purchase orders, cross-charges, and delivery tracking.
  • Understanding of technical operations and digital transformation in regulated environments.
  • Strong customer management, facilitation, executive communication, risk management, and escalation skills.
  • Collaborative, low-ego operating style with the ability to work effectively within a defined role scope while providing senior delivery leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

* Advanced degree such as MBA, MS, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent experience.

  • Experience in Biologics tech transfer lifecycle, including drug substance, drug product, analytical, manufacturing readiness, and quality/regulatory considerations.
  • Experience with enterprise data strategy, domain modeling, semantic technologies, ontologies, data governance, knowledge management, or digital manufacturing platforms.
  • Experience with AI, GenAI, analytics, automation, digital manufacturing, or Industry 4.0 initiatives in regulated environments.
  • Experience partnering with PMO, Enterprise Data, Architecture, IT, consulting partners, and cross-functional business teams.

Benefits & conditions

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $172,466.40 - $258,699.60 USD Annual. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
