Job description

Provide L2/L3 support for Omnissa Horizon VDI environments, including desktop performance, user profiles, login delays, and session stability. Administer and support Horizon components, VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, App Volumes, and related infrastructure. Manage desktop images, provisioning, patching, upgrades, and lifecycle activities. Develop PowerShell automation for provisioning, image management, health checks, and operational processes. Utilize monitoring and telemetry tools to proactively identify and resolve performance issues. Support end-user experience initiatives, including thin clients, remote access solutions, and display protocols (Blast, PCoIP). Partner with infrastructure, security, network, and application teams to ensure platform reliability and compliance.

Requirements

5+ years of experience supporting enterprise VDI or virtual desktop environments. Strong hands-on experience with Omnissa/VMware Horizon, VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter. Experience with FSLogix, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Windows desktop/server operating systems. Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills. Experience troubleshooting across networking, storage, compute, and user session layers. Familiarity with VDI monitoring and analytics tools.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with App Volumes, Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM), Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), or Horizon Cloud. Knowledge of networking technologies, UAG, VPNs, SSL certificates, and load balancing. Experience with endpoint security solutions such as CrowdStrike or Microsoft Defender. VMware/Omnissa or Microsoft certifications. Experience working in regulated environments such as financial services, healthcare, or government.
