BI Engineer

The Hospital Transparency Business Intelligence Engineer 2 solves complex business issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. You will report to an Associate Director Business Intelligence.

The Business Intelligence Engineer 2 will support the analysis of Hospital Transparency files. You will extract available data from hospital websites, transform and prepare that data for analysis, compare results across hospitals, and summarize key findings for business partners. You will develop repeatable data processes. These processes will contribute to Power BI dashboards and reports. The team will use these dashboards and reports to review trends, outliers, and insights related to hospital pricing transparency. This will be achieved by taking raw hospital transparency data and transforming it into relevant insights.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working with complex healthcare data files in multiple formats. We are looking for data preparation, business intelligence, documentation, with experience communicating updates to senior leaders and other partners.

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 3 or more years of data analytics experience
• 2 or more years of experience in SQL, Python, or similar
• Proficiency using data visualization tools such as PowerBI
• Expertise in assessing complex data sets and performing root cause analysis, * Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
• Experience with data mining and automation modeling techniques
• Drive business outcomes and decisions

Work at Home Requirements: To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested. In certain roles, the minimum recommended internet speed required by Humana may not be sufficient for business needs. Humana reserves the right to require associates to upgrade their internet service if necessary. Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana’s offices for training or meetings may be required.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$66,800 - $91,100 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
