You contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from initial specification and feasibility through integration, delivery, and ongoing support, while working largely autonomously and helping guide more junior engineers., * Contribute to all phases of the full software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support.

  • Write maintainable, extensible, and thoroughly tested code that complies with established coding standards and best practices.
  • Produce clear technical specifications and determine the operational feasibility of proposed solutions.
  • Continuously integrate and deliver software components into a fully functional, reliable, and scalable software system.
  • Facilitate end-to-end user testing with customers, ensuring solutions meet and exceed user expectations.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems to improve performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Apply strong domain expertise in backend engineering to build production-ready applications and services.
  • Work with a high degree of autonomy on day-to-day tasks, checking in with leadership as needed for alignment and direction.
  • Provide support, mentorship, and direction to more junior team members in mastered domain areas.
  • Understand the business model and product roadmap, and ensure technical decisions align with business and customer needs.
  • Consider technology costs and impacts when making architectural and implementation choices, validating assumptions when needed.
  • Approach feedback with a strong growth mindset, actively implementing improvements and contributing positively to team culture.
  • Raise concerns and ideas in a constructive manner to help improve products, processes, and organizational practices., You work in a modern engineering environment that emphasizes cloud-native development, microservices architecture, and automation. The technology stack includes backend Java with frameworks such as Spring and Spring Boot, AWS services like Lambda, SQS, and DynamoDB, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform. Teams commonly use Docker containers and may leverage Kubernetes for deploying and orchestrating microservices. You operate with a high degree of autonomy, collaborating closely with cross-functional partners and customers to deliver robust, scalable solutions. Requirements

  • Strong backend software engineering experience building production-ready applications.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services, specifically Lambda, SQS, and DynamoDB, for developing applications on cloud platforms.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform to define and manage cloud infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with common Java-based frameworks such as Spring and Spring Boot for building backend services.
  • Experience using Java Persistence API (JPA) and JDBC implementations for data access and persistence.
  • Ability to work largely autonomously, managing day-to-day tasks without constant supervision.
  • Capability to train and support junior team members in mastered technical domains.
  • Strong understanding of how business systems, products, and technologies interconnect, and how technical work impacts customers.
  • Demonstrated growth mindset, with openness to feedback and willingness to adapt and improve., * Experience with Kubernetes for developing, deploying, and orchestrating microservices-based applications.
  • Experience developing applications within Docker containers.
  • Expertise in multiple programming languages, such as Java and Python.
  • Good understanding of key software concepts related to security, privacy, and performance.
  • Ability to positively contribute to team and organizational culture, even in times of change.
  • Comfort working in environments that may experience organizational turbulence and change.

Benefits & conditions

This is a Contract position based out of Plano, TX. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $72.00/hr.
