Job description
Role: Network Specialist - This is a remote opportunity
Must be a field-capable network specialist who can perform daily sustainment, troubleshooting, hardware/software upgrade support, approved network changes, onsite/touch labor, and ticket discipline.
The Network Specialist provides troubleshooting and problem resolution in a production environment, daily sustainment support for DHA LAN/WLAN/WAN networks, hardware/software upgrade coordination, approved network change implementation, SolarWinds/ARMIS/Ansible-supported diagnostics, LAN/WAN security barrier support, bottleneck and latency analysis, and device reconfiguration or replacement., * Message type: Informational; you will receive text messages regarding your application and potentially regarding interview scheduling.

Requirements
- DoD 8570.01 / 8570.01-M compliance at IAM Level II or equivalent.
- Security+ and CCNA or equivalent network architecture certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as computer science plus at least two years of related experience; or certified technical/vocational school plus at least three years of related experience.
- Proficiency in TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, RSTP, VRRP, BIND, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.1d, 802.1q, 802.1w, 802.3, 802.11, 802.3u, 802.3z, Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, and DoD/DHA communications media.
- Experience with OTDR, cable testers, network sniffers, and EIA/TIA cable standards.
- Experience in routed, switched, and shared LAN environments using Microsoft OS, Windows Active Directory, UNIX, OpenVMS, routers, switches, terminal servers, local WAN, and long-haul WAN connectivity.
- Proficiency in Windows networks, Cisco Systems, and Orion SolarWinds.
- Ability to take direction from Referral Network Engineers and Network Engineer Associates on firewall, VPN, and IDS configuration.
- ADP sensitivity determination required.
