Job description
The Active Directory Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-level Active Directory infrastructure and cloud identity solutions. This role ensures secure, scalable, and efficient directory services that support organizational growth and compliance requirements., Strategic Planning & Design
- Design and architect AD infrastructure solutions aligned with business objectives
- Plan migration strategies from on-premises AD to hybrid or cloud-based solutions (Azure AD/Entra ID)
- Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans for directory services
Implementation & Deployment
- Lead implementation of Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) environments
- Configure and optimize AD forests, domains, and trust relationships
- Deploy and manage Azure AD/Microsoft Entra ID solutions
- Oversee hybrid identity scenarios connecting on-premises and cloud environments
Security & Compliance
- Establish security policies, access controls, and authentication mechanisms
- Implement Group Policy frameworks and security hardening standards
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and organizational security requirements
- Manage privileged access and identity governance
Infrastructure Management
- Oversee AD performance, health monitoring, and optimization
- Manage replication, site topology, and DNS integration
- Plan capacity and scalability for growing organizations
- Manage directory service upgrades and patches
Collaboration & Leadership
- Partner with IT operations, security, and business teams
- Mentor and guide junior administrators
- Document architecture decisions and maintain technical standards
Requirements
- 7+ years of Active Directory administration and design experience
- Deep expertise in AD DS, Azure AD/Entra ID, and hybrid identity solutions
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, DNS, and network infrastructure
- Experience with Group Policy, PowerShell scripting, and automation
- Understanding of security best practices and compliance frameworks
- Excellent communication and project management skills, * Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect)
- Experience with identity governance tools and solutions
- Knowledge of cloud security and zero-trust architecture
- Project management or leadership experience
