Job description

Do you want to shape the future of seller experience by building scalable systems that empower millions of selling partners worldwide? The Selling Partner Promotions organization is looking for a Software Development Engineer III to join our Promotions Lifecycle Management (PLM) team. You’ll architect and build the critical infrastructure that manages the complete sourcing lifecycle of all Selling Partner promotions, directly impacting how businesses connect with customers through innovative promotional strategies.

As part of our team, you’ll work on complex technical challenges that handle massive scale. From data persistence and security to offline processing and client notifications, your solutions will enable both internal and external selling partners to create and manage promotions seamlessly. This role offers the opportunity to drive deep customer impact while working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key job responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable, high-performance systems for managing promotion data across multiple global APIs, ensuring robust data persistence, security, and access control

  • Lead architectural decisions for the promotion lifecycle management platform, balancing technical constraints while focusing on long-term extensibility and system performance

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive solutions spanning the full software lifecycle, from design and implementation to testing, deployment, and maintenance strategies

  • Drive engineering excellence by establishing best practices, conducting thorough code reviews, and mentoring team members while ensuring operational excellence through proper monitoring, alarms, and runbook processes

  • Analyze complex business requirements and technical constraints to build elegant solutions that simplify existing systems while enabling future innovation for internal and external selling partner experiences

A day in the life

You’ll collaborate with product teams to understand business requirements, then work with fellow engineers to architect solutions that balance performance with maintainability. Throughout the day, you’ll participate in design reviews, mentor junior developers, and contribute to architectural discussions that shape the future of our platform. Whether you’re optimizing database queries, implementing new platform features, or troubleshooting complex distributed system issues, each day brings unique technical challenges that directly impact millions of selling partners and their customers.
