Job description

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join a defense-focused engineering team supporting modern software design, API development, DevSecOps practices, and real-time/combat system projects. This role is hybrid remote based in College Park, MD and requires an active Secret clearance., * Build and enhance frontend user interfaces using React, including hooks, functional components, and state management libraries

Design, develop, and maintain backend services
Implement responsive UI components and follow UI/UX best practices
Integrate frontend components with design systems and backend APIs
Apply modern software design patterns and UI frameworks
Develop, test, and deploy code in Linux/WSL environments
Support containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes
Write and maintain automated UI tests
Collaborate in Agile development environments
Participate in code reviews and team-based software engineering activities

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have strong full-stack development experience with React, C++, Java, API development, Linux/WSL, containerized deployments, CI/CD, and AWS., * 5+ years of professional software development experience

Active Secret clearance required
Proficiency with C++ and Java
Hands-on frontend development experience with React
Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining APIs
Working knowledge of DevSecOps practices
Experience with Agile development, CI/CD, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Docker, and Kubernetes
Experience with automated testing tools
Comfortable using IDEs and development tools such as VSCode, Eclipse, or NetBeans
Proficiency developing, building, and debugging applications in Linux/WSL environments
Practical experience with AWS services
Ability to work in a hybrid remote environment based in College Park, MD, * Experience with Cosmos or similar mission planning / analysis tools
Experience with real-time or combat systems and associated performance constraints
Cybersecurity experience
Defense or mission systems software development experience
