The Industry Solutions Engineering (ISE) team is a global engineering organization that works directly with customers looking toleveragethe latest technologies to address their toughest challenges.

We work closely with our customers’ engineers to jointly develop code for cloud-based solutions that can accelerate their organization. We work in collaboration with Microsoft product teams, partners, and open-source communities to empower our customers to do more with the cloud. We develop solutions side-by-side with our customers through collaborative innovation to solve their challenges. This work involves the development ofbroadly applicable, high-impact solution patterns and open-source software assets that contribute to the Microsoft platform.

We are hiring aSeniorSoftware Engineer with deep experience andexpertisein designing and delivering solutions using modern software engineering practices and cloud technologies. You will be part ofa cross-functional teamof software engineers, data scientists, technical program managers, and designerswho work side-by-side with high-impact and strategic customers and their engineers to build innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Collaborates withappropriate stakeholderstodetermineuser requirements for a scenario.

• Drives identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.

• Creates, implements,optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code toestablishand improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).

• Leverages subject-matterexpertiseof product features and partners withappropriate stakeholders(e.g., project managers) to drive a workgroup’s project plans, release plans, and work items.

• Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiates actions to restore system/product/service for simple and complex problems when appropriate.

• Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts tonew trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.

Required/Minimum Qualifications (RQs/MQs)

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications (PQs)

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
• Experience with ROS2
• Experience with industrial robots (Example: ABB, KUKA, FANUC, UR)
• Experience with simulation (Isaac Sim, Omniverse)
• Experience with AI in robotics
• Familiarity with industrial protocols (OPC UA, MQTT)
• Enjoy travel and are comfortable with travel up to 25%
