REMOTE AI Engineer

We are looking for a Senior AI Engineer (8+ years) who combines strong software engineering fundamentals with deep, hands-on experience building and deploying production-grade AI systems. This person will act as a primary engineer, owning projects end-to-end while partnering closely with business stakeholders to design scalable solutions. They should have hands-on experience delivering sophisticated agentic AI systems in production, understand the underlying engineering decisions behind those systems, and be capable of independently designing, building, and scaling AI-powered applications from concept through deployment.

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with a strong foundation in application and system design.

• Experience working with financial services, investment, capital markets, fintech, or other data-intensive domains.

• Proven experience building and deploying agentic AI systems into production. This is not a role for someone whose AI experience is limited to RAG implementations, chatbot wrappers, or prompt engineering.

• Deep understanding of modern AI architectures including:

o Agent orchestration frameworks (LangGraph, LangChain, CrewAI, etc.)

o Vector databases and retrieval systems

o Knowledge graphs

o LLM evaluation, observability, and guardrails

o AI workflow orchestration and state management

o Fine-tuning considerations and model optimization strategies

• Ability to design AI systems that go beyond retrieval and can:

o Make decisions

o Execute actions

o Manage multi-step workflows

o Handle failure scenarios and validation

o Produce deterministic, reliable outcomes

• Strong understanding of how AI systems are evaluated and validated in production, including preventing hallucinations, verifying outputs, measuring performance, and ensuring business trust in results.

• Experience leveraging AI to improve software engineering and business processes, not just consuming AI tools.

• Software engineering background building enterprise applications, APIs, and scalable systems from the ground up.

• Comfortable serving as the primary engineer and technical owner for an initiative.

• Strong code review, debugging, and architecture skills, including reviewing and validating AI-generated code.
