Job description
MTSI is seeking a highly experienced Space Systems Integration Engineer to provide advanced technical leadership across space vehicle development, integration, launch preparation, and on-orbit operations in support of Space Systems Command (SSC). You will support all phases of mission development-design, integration, launch readiness, and operations-while ensuring compliance with required SSC guidance, policies, and mission standards., Satellite Development, Integration, and Test
- Assess space-vehicle design, development activities, and integration readiness.
- Review test plans, procedures, specifications, and technical orders to identify interface or integration issues.
- Observe assembly, integration, and test (AIT) activities for both primary spacecraft and Auxiliary Payloads (APLs).
- Support requirements tracking, verification, and reporting of technical and schedule risks.
Payload, Spacecraft & Launch Vehicle Integration
- Lead coordination and oversight of spacecraft, payload, and launch vehicle integration-including multi-payload and multi-orbit missions, rideshare adapters, boosters, and CubeSat deployers.
- Review integration plans/procedures and observe integration execution.
- Support deviation/waiver processing, milestone development, and risk-management activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related STEM field (or four additional years of experience in lieu of degree).
- 9+ years experience in systems engineering, space-vehicle development, integration, and test.
- Experience with interface management, ICD development, and end-to-end system integration.
- Experience with launch vehicle mission interfaces, satellite test/processing, and launch readiness activities.
- Experience supporting U.S. Government SPOs and multi-contractor environments.
- Clearance: Active Top Secret Clearance and ability to acquire SCI / SAP Access, * Experience with multi-payload missions, rideshare operations, or multi-orbit deployment strategies.
- Familiarity with EELV/NSSL launch vehicles and launch-site processing flows.
- Experience developing program plans, schedules, earned value metrics, and integration risk assessments.
- Strong ability to negotiate technical interfaces and coordinate responsibilities across distributed mission partners.
Benefits & conditions
The pay range for this position in California is $165,000/year to $205,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract wages, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
