Job description
- Reverse engineer SQL stored procedures/views, configs, and dependencies.
- Create source-to-target mapping (STTM) docs with field-level transformation logic and business rules.
- Translate existing logic into ADF/Databricks implementation guidance (orchestration, incremental loads, error handling, audit patterns).
- Document data lineage across Source staging curated (Databricks).
- Partner with stakeholders (business, actuary/claims ops, data engineering) to validate business rules and define acceptance criteria.
- Define reconciliation checks to validate parity between SSIS and rebuilt pipelines., Scope of Work:
- General.
- API Design & Build (C#/.NET 8)
- REST endpoints (versioned) for: Create Policy, Amend/MTA, Renew, Bind, Cancel, GetStatus.
- Idempotency, request validation, correlation IDs, and deterministic error contracts.
- Callback endpoints to accept booking/bind confirmations from IRIS/PC.
- Integration Adapters.
- Desirable - IRIS adapter for skeleton/policy endpoints; handle optional/mandatory field variability.
Requirements
- Advanced SQL (complex joins, CTEs, window functions, performance-aware logic).
- Hands-on experience analysing and documenting SSIS packages (Derived Column, Lookup, Conditional Split, Merge Join, Aggregate, Script).
- Proven ability to produce mapping/spec documents that developers can build from with minimal back-and-forth.
- Strong understanding of ETL concepts: incremental/full loads, SCD/deduping, data quality rules, audit columns, error handling.
Nice-to-Have:
- Familiarity with ADF pipelines, Databricks (Delta Lake), medallion architecture, Unity Catalog.
- Experience with Snowflake as a source, and on prem connectivity patterns (Self-hosted IR).
- Insurance domain exposure: claims, policy, billing, underwriting, reinsurance, producer/agent data.
- Tools / Documentation Expectations:
- We value candidates who can produce crisp, engineering-grade documentation.
- STTM in Excel/Confluence with traceability IDs (Rule-001, Transform-010).
- Process/lineage diagram (Visio/Lucid chart/Miro).
- Validation pack (SQL scripts or Databricks notebook checks).
Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years C# .NET coding experience.
- Lead or Sole Developer experience.
- Containerisation and deployment with microservices including centralised logging.
- Full REST API Design and delivery and experience using SOAP backend interfaces.
- Familiarity with OAuth / MSAL Authentication and Authorization.
- Full understanding and capability using and managing Azure DevOps, Github and Git for build and deploy automation.
- IDE experience with Visual Studio Code and GitHub Copilot.
- Plus would be experience in Terraform using Azure DevOps and Dynatrace logging and Kubernetes (AKS).
