Job description

The Corporate Infrastructure Services team supports Amazon’s business through the deployment of solutions and infrastructure driven by AWS technology. We have a worldwide focus on the sustainable and effective launch, adoption and utilization of Amazon’s technologies / systems for our Corporate, AWS and Customer Services customer base. The team is looking for a System Development Engineer to help in our mission to develop and support our services in the most efficient and sustainable way possible. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for working on behalf of the customers and can operate independently, autonomously, and able to manage ambiguity. In addition to the technical skills, maturity, judgment, communication skills, negotiation skills and influencing skills are all essential as you interact with cross functional teams worldwide. A successful team member will be skilled at anticipating bottlenecks, balancing business needs with technical constraints, and taking calculated risks to maximize value. Your solutions are pragmatic, efficient, and cost-effective. You make appropriate trade-offs and re-use or extend prior work where possible. You thoroughly test your work. You consistently write clear, accurate, and concise documentation and improve your team’s existing documentation. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of AWS technologies and networking background as well as broad experience in compute., As a Systems Development Engineer, you will build technology solutions to solve business and customer problems applying appropriate technologies and best practices. Your solutions are testable, maintainable, and efficient. You understand the system architecture and you make appropriate design, technical trade-off decisions. Through automation/technical innovation, you impact positively the performance, scalability, reliability, or availability of a product/system/service. You work to resolve the root cause of complex problems leveraging your cross-domain understanding of the technology involved in your systems. You automate and simplify development, test, and operational processes. Your work will focus on the development and operational support of automation systems we build, for deployment, lifecycle management of hardware and the integrations we own. You will focus on applications built on native AWS for the management, monitoring and solutions directly related to the corporate office space. About the team Our customer is our business. We obsess over the end user experience, but we build our strategy based on the business’s requirements

Requirements

Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust

  • Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure
  • Experience with Linux/Unix
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
  • Bachelor’s degree Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with distributed systems at scale
  • Experience with networking fundamentals including hands-on experience with load balancers, switches, routers, etc.
