Manager, Software Engineering

We’re seeking a Manager, Software Engineering to lead a newly formed data engineering team at the center of Applied’s most critical, AI-driven initiatives. This team spans Applied’s core AMS platforms and powers the data engineering behind key products. You’ll have the rare opportunity to help build a team, standardize data engineering best practices, and shape a true data ecosystem across Applied’s product portfolio from the ground up - partnering closely with Product, Architecture, and Engineering leaders across the organization . What You’ll Do

• Lead team of engineers driving data engineering standards and initiatives across Applied’s platforms
• Drive high-visibility, cross-functional initiatives in close collaboration with Product, Architecture, and Engineering teams
• Build and standardize data engineering best practices as part of a newly formed team, helping shape the discipline from the ground up
• Provide hands-on technical guidance in SQL optimization, data modeling, and the GCP data/streaming stack, helping engineers work through cloud technical problem-solving
• Champion the adoption of AI-assisted and agentic engineering workflows to drive team-wide productivity
• Balance hands-on technical leadership with coaching, goal-setting, and other people-management responsibilities, Our targeted starting base salary in the United States for this position ranges from $115,000 - $185,000. To determine a new team member’s starting pay, we consider a variety of factors, including someone’s depth, breadth, and variety of experience, skills, and responsibilities. Depending on the role, team members may also be eligible to participate in additional compensation plans such as bonus and commission.
