Job description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced System Administrator specializing in Linux Administration to join our dynamic team in Dallas, Texas. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing and maintaining server environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. This role requires a proactive approach to system management and a commitment to continuous improvement. <>Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain Linux based server environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to enhance system efficiency.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls to ensure data security and compliance.
  • Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery planning to safeguard critical data.
  • Implement and maintain security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and patch management.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to support application deployments and system integrations.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and procedures for knowledge sharing and compliance.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to recommend improvements and innovations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Linux Administration, with a strong understanding of various Linux distributions (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat).
  • Solid knowledge of server hardware, networking, and virtualization technologies.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation and system management.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment.

<>Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus).
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and best practices., * Bachelor’’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5 7 years of relevant experience in system administration, with a focus on Linux environments.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., RHCE, CompTIA Linux+, LPIC) are a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
