Job description
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build and support Apache Flink pipelines for real-time data processing and analytics.
- Develop RESTful APIs and microservices for application integration.
- Design and implement Kafka-based streaming and messaging solutions.
- Develop and deploy cloud-native applications using AWS EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, and Step Functions.
- Provision and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform.
- Build, deploy, and support containerized applications using Kubernetes and Docker.
- Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests while troubleshooting production issues.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
- Collaborate closely with engineering leaders, product managers, and cross-functional stakeholders throughout the SDLC.
- Serve as the team’s Apache Flink Subject Matter Expert, providing technical leadership on streaming data initiatives.
- Support broader AWS cloud engineering efforts after Flink-specific work is completed.
Requirements
- Expert-level experience building and maintaining Apache Flink data pipelines.
- Strong Java development experience with Spring Boot and RESTful APIs.
- Hands-on AWS development experience with EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, and Step Functions.
- Experience developing applications in Golang.
- Strong Terraform and Infrastructure as Code experience.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native application deployment.
- Experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures.
- Proficiency with Git version control.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Experience
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Production experience designing and supporting Apache Flink streaming applications.
- Experience developing cloud-native AWS solutions beyond Flink deployments.
- Experience building scalable microservices and distributed systems.
- Ability to serve as a technical leader while contributing across multiple cloud technologies.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
