The position is for a Python Developer in Risk Americas, focusing on the design, development, and deployment of robust automation tools and internal modules. This role is centered on transforming complex technical and functional specifications into high-performance software solutions. This role is focused on supporting the digitalization of operational processes by designing, building, and maintaining interconnected applications. The chosen candidate will work closely with RISK teams to identify manual or fragmented workflows and transform them into reliable, scalable, and well-controlled solutions. By leveraging automation, the role will help reduce manual effort, improve process efficiency, strengthen controls, and create more sustainable ways of working. The role offers exposure to a broad range of risk processes and metrics, and the integration of those metrics into Limit Reporting.

Responsibilities :

  • Tool Development : Build and maintain sophisticated automation tools to handle complex data investigations, risk analysis, and workflow management.
  • Workflow Automation: Develop scripts and applications to automate manual processes, including the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from legacy formats (e.g., Excel) into structured systems.
  • Module Construction: Design and implement specialized modules for reporting, automated commentary generation, and systematic escalation workflows.
  • Data Integration: Create seamless integrations between various data sources, internal APIs, and third-party systems.
  • Code Quality & Reliability: Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code. Ensure all automation tools are rigorously tested to handle edge cases and high-volume data processing.
  • Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize existing automation tools for speed, accuracy, and resource efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain Python-based applications and automation solutions that improve efficiency, control, and scalability across the RISK stream.
  • Work with Risk users, analysts, and technology teams for user acceptance testing, and to ensure a smooth deployment of the solutions in production
  • Deliver robust Python solutions, including scripts, tools, workflows, and small applications, ensuring they are well tested, documented, maintainable, and aligned with RISK standards.

Requirements

  • Strong experience working with complex and varied IT systems, with a results-driven mindset and a clear understanding of how outputs affect business stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and provide practical guidance to others.
  • Expert Python Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Python and its ecosystem.
  • Data Manipulation: Extensive experience with libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Openpyxl for complex data processing and spreadsheet automation.
  • Database Management: Strong proficiency in SQL and experience interacting with relational databases.
  • API Integration: Proven experience consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Software Engineering Best Practices: Mastery of version control (Git), unit testing frameworks, and the ability to write modular, maintainable code. CI/CD pipeline experience is preferable.
  • Automated Workflows: Experience building notification engines, escalation logic, or reporting modules . AI exposure: prior exposure to AI would be an advantage.

  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and business relationship skills, with the ability to connect technical teams with junior and senior business stakeholders.
