Job description

This role is part of a specialized consulting team focused on providing advanced solution development and in-depth product knowledge to advance Oracle Health’s strategic priorities. As a Lead Consulting Developer, you will focus on developing and optimizing Python code to support AI and machine learning initiatives. This role requires you to obtain and maintain Federal Security clearance and be a US-based citizen.

  • Lead and direct design sessions and code reviews for functional correctness, architectural maintainability, and performance
  • Quickly comprehend and debug complex, unfamiliar codebases
  • Ability to multi-task and deal with changing priorities
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and peers
  • Drive adoption of engineering best practices across the team
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure requirements are clearly defined and delivered
  • Contribute to and own critical project planning, estimation, and delivery timelines
  • Promote a culture of innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure security and compliance requirements are addressed in the software development lifecycle

Requirements

  • BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field, with 6+ years of professional experience
  • Extensive hands-on software design and programming experience, including deep expertise with Python
  • Proven experience designing and building distributed systems and large-scale architectures
  • Strong experience implementing microservices on leading container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes)
  • Demonstrated ability to optimize systems for performance, efficiency, reliability, and scalability
  • Strong customer focus with a track record of delivering robust and maintainable solutions
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with experience collaborating across global teams
  • Advanced troubleshooting, analytical, and performance tuning skills in Cloud environments
  • Hands-on Cloud development experience across major platforms (Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment

AI/ML experience:

  • Proven track record building and operating Generative AI, Agentic, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems
  • Experience supporting and automating ML Ops pipelines
  • Comfortable working directly with data scientists and research/innovation teams
  • Familiarity with code generation assist technologies

Benefits & conditions

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $97,500 to $199,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
