Job description

The Operations and Technology Manager will support the day-to-day operations and technology needs of the AI Innovation Lab.

This role requires technical oversight, project management, and infrastructure design of all internal software, as well as relevant financial analysis. They will maintain software technology infrastructure to support the AI2L, mostly notably AI tools and administrative systems that student projects. This position will perform a variety of moderately to complex tasks required for the support of user and system requirements, recommends, and direct the development for all internal software related projects, and acts as technical and operational lead., * Direct and lead technology support, specifically AI tooling and software access required for project completion.

  • Work with product owners, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand customer needs and deliver appropriate solutions, full life-cycle project management (client consultation, design scope, interaction with ITS, implementation, and deployment).
  • Ensure budgets, timelines and resources are correctly allocated.
  • Drive new development and planning for future software development projects based on internal needs.
  • Provide general administrative and operational support to AI Innovation Lab and students, which may include both academic operations and office operations: organizing and scheduling meetings, tracking and maintaining department budgets, maintaining office equipment, generating purchase orders, reconciling corporate credit cards, email communications, and ordering office supplies, building course sections, student enrollment, event support, space support, etc.
  • Work with the leadership team on special projects on an on-demand basis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer and information science or related field
  • Two to five years of business/tech experience required
  • Knowledge and experience developing applications using Python, SQL, and Django strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of various software development tools and processes.
  • Must have strong written and oral communication and leadership skills, and must be extremely organized
  • Ability to multi-task, ability to provide mentorship and leadership, and strong system development skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Apply strong problem-solving and technical skills to navigate complex operational and technology challenges.
  • Demonstrate a proactive, ‘can-do’ attitude in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effectively engage with customers and stakeholders, addressing needs with professionalism and responsiveness.
  • Support both technical and non-technical requirements of the AI Innovation Lab
  • Show ongoing commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement.

Compensation Grade/Pay Type: 108S

Expected Hiring Range: $60,315.00 - $85,192.50

With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role. Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and are subject to change.
