At DACUT Cannabis, data is not just reporting-it is the foundation of how we operate, improve, and scale. We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-driven Data Analyst (SQL / Business Intelligence) to support reporting, analytics, and operational visibility across retail, cultivation, processing, and corporate functions. This role is responsible for transforming raw data into clear, actionable insights that drive performance, compliance, and decision-making across the organization. You will work closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure data is accurate, accessible, and meaningful. The ideal candidate is passionate about solving business problems through data, enjoys working with large datasets, and can communicate complex findings in a way that helps teams make better decisions. Essential Responsibilities Data Extraction & Query Development
- Write and maintain SQL queries to extract data from internal systems, including POS, inventory, compliance, and financial systems.
- Work directly with databases to retrieve, join, clean, and structure datasets for reporting and analysis.
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data across multiple business systems.
- Optimize SQL queries and reporting processes for performance and scalability.
Reporting & Dashboard Development
- Build, maintain, and enhance dashboards using Power BI or similar business intelligence platforms.
- Create automated reporting solutions that improve efficiency and increase visibility across the organization.
Develop standardized reporting across all business units, including:
- Sales performance
- Inventory tracking and shrink
- Compliance metrics
- Operational performance
- Labor performance
Business & Operational Analysis
- Analyze sales, inventory, labor, and operational trends across multiple retail and production facilities.
- Identify patterns, inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for operational improvement.
- Provide executive leadership with data-driven insights and actionable recommendations.
- Translate complex datasets into meaningful business intelligence that supports strategic decision-making.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Retail, Cultivation, Processing, Finance, Human Resources, and Executive Leadership.
- Gather reporting requirements and translate business needs into scalable reporting solutions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis and operational reporting.
- Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Data Quality & Integrity
- Validate, audit, and reconcile data to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Identify and resolve data discrepancies in partnership with internal departments.
- Support the development of standardized reporting definitions, documentation, and data governance practices.
- Continuously improve reporting accuracy and data integrity across all business systems.
Requirements
Required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Data Analysis, Business Intelligence, or Analytics.
- Strong proficiency with SQL, including queries, joins, aggregations, and data transformation.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization platforms.
- Experience working with large datasets and enterprise reporting systems.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred
- Experience within cannabis, retail, manufacturing, distribution, or other highly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with POS systems, inventory management systems, or compliance platforms.
- Experience with ERP, CRM, payroll, or financial business systems.
- Experience developing executive dashboards and KPI reporting.
- Understanding of business process improvement and operational analytics.
