Job description
System Engineering Group (SEG) is seeking a Lead Threat Engineer to technically lead and oversee projects for US Navy and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) programs. Position is located in Columbia, MD., * Lead major engineering projects
- Develop a technical path forward and oversee development by engineering staff
- Ensure projects are executed accurately, on time, and on budget
- Provide cross-coordination between multiple engineering disciplines (e.g., trajectory, RF, CAD, Design, etc.) and software teams to define tasking and develop consistent products
- Provide oversight, direction, and review for all products, documentation, and briefing material
- Lead internal and external milestone reviews for the project/customer
- Directly contribute to technical project development as required
- Work with program management to ensure requirements are mapped to the appropriate technical group for the current funded efforts and a V&V plan is in place
- Provide input to the SEG technical roadmap
- Identify new capability development areas for the engineering directorate to improve support of customer needs and coordinate efforts with technical branches
- Ensure SEG engineering vision, standards and philosophy are applied to all development efforts
- Travel anticipated at 5 percent of time or less
Requirements
- Must have or be able to obtain DoD security clearance at the Secret level. Must be able to maintain the required clearance. Eligibility for cleared access in this instance requires US citizenship.
- BS Degree: Systems Engineering, Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Physics, Applied Math or similar STEM degree
- 7+ years of total work experience
- 3+ years of experience in model and simulation development
- 3+ years of experience leading projects and teams
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Experience developing and presenting briefing material, * Active or current DoD security clearance at Secret level or above.
- MS degree in relevant discipline listed above
- 10+ years of total work experience
- Demonstrated experience working with government (Navy and MDA) and DoD contractors in a digital development environment
- Familiarity with threat engineering including the digital design and characterization of threat missile systems from a trajectory, RF signature, IR signatures, CAD, phenomenology, EA/EP perspective
- Familiarity with project tracking software such MS project, Jira, Confluence, etc.
- Knowledge of aerospace /defense systems technology domains
