Job description

New Product Development Artificial Intelligence Requirements Management Electrical System Design Engineering Design Process Vehicle Electrical Systems Continuous Improvement Process Cross-Functional Collaboration, This role focuses on developing, integrating, and validating vehicle electrical systems for riding lawn mowers and compact utility tractors. You will design and release electrical components and wiring harnesses, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams throughout the product development process, and ensure robust software and hardware interaction within embedded systems. The position requires a self-motivated engineer who can manage project deliverables, communicate clearly, and support production builds as needed., * Own and develop electrical system requirements for hardware and software in collaboration with cross-functional teams such as supply management, quality, PV&V, and program management.

  • Develop and release vehicle electrical systems, including wiring harnesses, within the established production system and product development processes.
  • Create, organize, and maintain bills of material for electrical systems on vehicles and, where applicable, test equipment systems.
  • Work with external suppliers to assess component feasibility, support component development, and ensure proper integration into vehicle systems.
  • Provide build support at various stages of the product development cycle, including prototype and production builds, and work off-shift hours when needed to support these activities.
  • Own and manage project deliverables, ensuring tasks are completed on time and aligned with project objectives.
  • Provide clear and concise oral and written communication to stakeholders regarding design decisions, issues, and status updates.
  • Travel domestically and internationally, up to approximately 10%, to support development, supplier coordination, and build activities.
  • Collaborate with remotely located team members and support coordination of design and test work across locations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of electrical system design, integration, and validation practices.

  • Experience developing, designing, or testing electrical components, wiring harnesses, and schematics, with a solid understanding of software and hardware interaction.
  • Demonstrated experience owning and managing project deliverables within a product development environment.
  • Knowledge of general product development processes and lifecycle.
  • Ability to provide clear, concise oral and written communication.
  • Self-motivated with strong time management skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work off-shift hours, as needed, to support production builds.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to approximately 10%.
  • Experience in hardware and electrical engineering, including electrical and hardware design.
  • Experience with embedded software and embedded product validation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in agriculture or other off-highway vehicle development.
  • Experience creating and maintaining bills of material for vehicle systems or test equipment systems.
  • Experience in product development software or writing test scripts for embedded product validation and verification, such as Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) or Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) test stands.
  • Experience developing wiring harnesses and electrical systems using 3D CAD tools.
  • Project management experience, including planning, tracking, and coordinating engineering activities.
  • Experience leading and training new team members or peers.
  • Experience leading design and test work performed by remotely located team members.
  • Advanced training in additional engineering disciplines beyond core electrical engineering.

This is a Contract position based out of Horicon, WI. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
