Job description

The Boeing Company is currently seeking GSCCE Modernization Software Engineers to support our Space Mission Systems (SMS) Ground Mission Management (GMM) team with our Global Satellite Configuration and Control Equipment (GSCCE) program in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

As a member of the GSCCE team, you will be involved with updating and modernizing the global military satellite communications (MILSATCOM) ground system that will manage the Boeing-built Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) satellites Payloads for all F1-F12 satellites. You will be involved in the entire product development lifecycle, from conceptualization and development to the maintenance and support of the delivered system for our customers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Fully competent in core I&T skills, contribute to effective producibility of designs, cost, repeatable approach while managing schedule constraints.
  • Support and execute test cases and scenarios to validate software functionality, performance, and safety, while identifying and reporting defects, issues, and potential vulnerabilities, test plans, and documents.
  • Support trade studies, performance analyses, risk and opportunity assessments.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of testing processes.
  • Participate in verification plan development and validation capturing how program requirements will be verified, including identification of key test artifacts essential for verification.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, document findings, and providing feedback
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to review performance issues, identify root causes, recommend, and develop a solution to ensure optimal performance.
  • Develop clean, maintainable, and efficient code within the existing codebase, ensuring alignment with established architecture and coding standards.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • 5+ years of experience with Software Engineering
  • 1+ years working in Software Integration and/or Test activities

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Active Secret Clearance or Higher
  • 7+ years of experience in Software Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience with web-based development efforts, leveraging ReactJS, Redux, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS
  • 2+ years of experience with RESTFul APIs
  • 5+ years of experience with open-source software development experience.
  • 3+ web socket programming experiencing
  • 3+ years with object-oriented programming (i.e., Java)
  • 3+ years of experience troubleshooting software and network integration during platform deployments.
  • · 3+ years of experience as a well-rounded engineer comfortable wearing multiple hats, such as a web designer, UI designer, and engineer.
  • · 3+ years of experience integrating and troubleshooting front-end and back-end software components, including supporting fix regardless of component.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices, along with experience supporting Government security requirements for software delivery involving system accreditation.
  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment utilizing Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.) or similar tools.
  • Experience identifying security vulnerabilities within source code
