Job description
The Senior Application Developer will be working with Application Development teams to design, develop, enhance, and sustain mission-critical applications. This role provides senior-level technical expertise, mentors junior developers, and works closely with government stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and compliant software solutions aligned with the company’s standards. This is a remote position., · Lead the design and development of complex web-based and backend applications supporting mission systems
· Translate high-level functional and technical requirements into scalable, maintainable application architectures
· Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level developers
· Support application modernization initiatives, including refactoring legacy systems and implementing cloud-native solutions
· Integrate applications with databases, APIs, and external systems
· Ensure applications comply with cybersecurity, RMF, and ATO requirements
· Develop and maintain technical documentation, design artifacts, and operational runbooks
· Support application deployment, troubleshooting, and performance optimization in lower and production environments
Requirements
Do you have experience in ServiceNow?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, · Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
· 8+ years of experience in application development supporting enterprise systems
· Strong experience with modern programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, JavaScript)
· Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs
· Experience with PowerApps and ServiceNow
· Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases
· Experience working in Agile, DevSecOps, or CI/CD environments
· Strong understanding of secure software development practices
· Excellent communication skills and ability to interface with government stakeholders
· Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust.
Preferred Qualifications
· Prior experience supporting government programs
· Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GovCloud
· Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
· Experience supporting systems undergoing RMF or ATO processes
