Senior System Administrator, internally known as Senior Analyst, Information Workplace Services, collaborates with a diverse team to support exciting, critical programs with classified information system capabilities. Success in this role means you can develop, implement, and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments across various classified programs. Program teams rely on your collaboration and guidance to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions to solve complex IT infrastructure problems. The candidate is responsible for provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software related to a Linux infrastructure for classified programs. In addition, this candidate will support numerous lab environments on workstations that interact or control STE (Special Test Equipment). Candidate must be experienced with, but are not limited to, server management (software and hardware); storage management (logical and physical); cross platform authentication and access management; data backup and restoration; software and license configuration; and workstation support.

Requirements

  • Experience with Linux architecture, deployment, administration, networking, performance monitoring/tuning, security hardening, and troubleshooting
  • Integrated AD authentication (Kerberos, LDAP and/or Centrify).
  • Experience with SMTP, DHCP, DNS, NIS, LDAP, CIFS, NFS, Samba and *NIX system security.
  • Experience with infrastructure backup, restore, disaster recovery and business continuity products like Symantec NetBackup.
  • Experience with security infrastructure products and capabilities (e.g. Antivirus).
  • Experience gathering requirements, designing, and implementing appropriate solutions.
  • Experience with application installation and multi-server environment/deployment Experience with an IT incident/service request system.
  • Experience with HP server hardware support and diagnosis.
  • Experience with HP storage hardware support and diagnosis.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Experience supporting Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with Active Directory, VMware, Administration, backup and recovery.
  • Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with VMware VSphere (ESXi, vCenter, etc).
  • Experience with Storage - HP MSA, RAID configuration.
  • Experience with Window Servers, Active Directory and Group Policy.
  • Experience with Network and infrastructure services such as domain controllers, global catalogs, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Experience with Infrastructure backup, restore, disaster recovery and business continuity.
  • Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF.
  • Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions.
  • Information Technology project lifecycle management processes.
  • Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods development.
  • Experience with Microsoft WSUS, MECM, and/or Exchange.
  • Scripting Experience.

Benefits & conditions

The salary range for this role is 95,500 USD - 181,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
