Job description
The QA/QC Technician verifies the quality of building automation system installations on industrial projects, with a strong focus on data center environments. This role performs continuity and point-to-point testing, supports commissioning activities, coordinates subcontractors, and maintains accurate project documentation to ensure all work aligns with project drawings, specifications, and safety requirements.
Responsibilities

Verify the quality of building automation system installations to ensure they meet project drawings, specifications, and standards.

Perform continuity and point-to-point testing on building automation systems and related mechanical components.

Support commissioning activities by assisting with system checks, functional testing, and issue resolution.

Coordinate and communicate with subcontractors to align work activities and ensure adherence to quality and safety requirements.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including work orders, test records, and quality reports.

Use standard operating procedures (SOPs) to guide quality checks and documentation practices.

Manage and track project documentation using tools such as Smartsheet and HammerTech.

Document installation and testing activities clearly and thoroughly to support project handover and ongoing operations.

Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including large end users, to provide updates on quality status and testing results.

Support safety practices on site by following established safety procedures and using HammerTech or similar systems to record and monitor safety-related information., This role is based on a data center project within an industrial construction environment. You will work on site alongside subcontractors, commissioning teams, and project stakeholders to verify installation quality and support commissioning activities. The position involves regular use of digital tools such as Smartsheet, HammerTech, and Microsoft Excel for documentation, coordination, and safety tracking. The work setting is fast-paced and quality-focused, with a strong emphasis on safety, accurate documentation, and clear communication with large end users and project partners.
Requirements

At least 5 years of experience working on industrial projects, preferably including data center projects.

Proven experience in QA/QC activities related to building automation systems or similar technical installations.

Strong ability to perform continuity and point-to-point testing on mechanical and automation systems.

Proficiency in using documentation management tools such as Smartsheet.

Hands-on experience using HammerTech for documentation, safety, or project coordination.

Solid understanding of safety practices and procedures on industrial construction sites.

Ability to read and interpret project drawings and specifications accurately.

Strong communication skills to collaborate with subcontractors and project stakeholders.

Ability to manage and complete work orders accurately and on time.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for tracking, reporting, and organizing project data.

Attention to detail and a systematic approach to documentation and quality verification.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience working on data center projects or other mission-critical industrial facilities.

Familiarity with mechanical systems associated with building automation installations.

Experience coordinating with large end users and communicating technical information clearly.

Background in using structured SOPs to standardize quality and testing activities.

Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary project team.
Benefits & conditions
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
