Job description

In this position, the candidate will be required t o operate, monitor, and maintain network equipment and applications such as firewalls, switches, wireless technologies, and various software applications. The candidate will also assist with help desk duties as required during the legislative session. This is a full-time on-site position that will require hands-on installation and maintenance of network and server systems while providing coverage to support the legislative session operations and respond to time-sensitive requests., * Monitor various network, storage, and software technologies.

  • Perform checks to verify systems are stable.
  • Troubleshoot system operating problems and determine the cause of system interruptions.
  • Resolve and coordinate problem resolution with in-house staff and vendors.
  • Perform or provide technical guidance in the installation and configuration of network and security equipment.
  • Install a variety of hardware and software systems as needed * Provide user support and other duties as needed

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: 1-3 years working with switches, firewalls, various hardware and software products, wireless network technologies, server and client operating systems including Windows and Linux. Good knowledge of TCP/IP networking configurations and network operating systems. Knowledge of current I.T. network and security trends.

Desirable Experience: Juniper switches, network firewalls, maintaining wireless networking and IP telephone equipment. Linux and VMware administration, Storage Aera Network (SAN) management. Experience with Microsoft AD, Azure, and Office 365 administration.
